Suggested journeys
Lima in 1 day
In the morning, visit the classic corners of Lima Centro, followed by lunch in a cevichería or modest, neighborhood huarique. In the afternoon, visit the archaeological collection at Museo Larco and then take a leisurely walk in Miraflores to see the sunset from the boardwalk (malecón) and the shopping-entertainment mall Larcomar. Have dinner at La Rosa Náutica, Restaurant La Huaca Pucllana, or other classic Miraflores restaurant.

Lima in 2 days
In the morning, visit a couple of Lima’s outstanding museums (choosing from the Museo Larco, Museo de la Nación, the Museo de Oro or perhaps one of the smaller, private collections, such as Enrico Poli or Museo Amano). After lunch go to calle Capón, visit Lima Centro and a couple of its restored colonial mansions, followed by sunset on the San Cristóbal hilltop. On the 2nd day, which may be your final day in Peru, do some shopping in the morning for handicrafts or visit Polvos Azules, followed by lunch at a cevichería and a stroll through Miraflores and/or Barranco, with late afternoon at Larcomar. Have dinner at a restaurant specializing in Lima’s fusion cuisine.

Lima in 3 days
Follow the 2 days in Lima schedule (above), and on the 3rd day, check out the beaches and islands near the capital, perhaps going dolphin-watching. Further explore Lima’s dynamic dining scene and check out a peña or other live-music club.
