Going to other destinations

Nasca (446 km / 279 miles)
By bus is the only reliable way to Lima. Cruz del Sur and Ormeño buses from Lima go through Nasca on the way to Arequipa; the trip from Lima to Nasca takes about 7 hours. Buses from Lima to Nasca leave at 1:30pm daily. Another option for many is a vehicle rental, which permits travelers to more easily visit Paracas and the Ballestas Islands and even continue on to Puerto Inca (the former Inca port city, km. 610 of the Pan-American Highway).

Arequipa (1,010 km / 632 miles)
There are daily flights (75 minutes) on Lan. Cruz del Sur & Ormeño buses travel from Lima to Arequipa, passing through Nasca, in about 16 hours.

Puno / Lake Titicaca (1,495 km / 935 miles)
Lan flies daily (60 minutes) to Juliaca, the closest airport to Puno (45 minutes by taxi).

Cusco (1,106 km / 692 miles)
To Cusco there are frequent flights (60 minutes) on Lan and Taca. Note that flights are often booked and the only sure time to fly into Cusco is in the morning (afternoon winds often result in the cancellation of later-day flights.) The journey to Cusco takes 22 hours by land; carriers include Cruz del Sur and Ormeño.

For information about flights to northern destinations such as Trujillo, Piura, Tumbes, Tarapoto or towns at the gateway to the Amazon Basin, visit Lan Airlines. For additional information on how to Travel from Lima to Other Destinations, you can write to travel@casa-andina.com
