Nasca Travel Guide
Suggested journeys
|
|
Nasca in 1 day
Most visitors arrive in Nasca around midday; it’s best to do the overflight of the Lines that afternoon, and leave very early in the morning to Punta San Fernando. Time will be tight, so making plans and reservations in advance is highly recommended.
Nasca in 2 days
Visitors with an additional day in Nasca should spend one full day visiting San Fernando as well as the Ceremonial Center of Cahuachi & La Estaquería, the Usaca desert, and the Antonini Museum. On the 2nd day, go sand boarding on Cerro Blanco, the highest sanddune in South America del Sur (you can also see the dune without needing to test your balance on a sandboard) and in the afternoon, do an overflight of the Nasca and Palpa Lines.
Nasca in 3 days
After spending the first 2 days as above, on the 3rd visit the ceramics studio visit offered by Casa Andina and then head to Pampas Galeras, where you’ll see a fine display of wild South American camelids.

Ten years crisscrossing Peru, producing 240 TV programs on diverse topics. A journalist and writer, for nearly a decade he has directed and hosted the TV program Tiempo de Viaje, in which he travels throughout Peru (and occasionally other countries), documenting natural, historical and human scenes infrequently visited by conventional tourism. His perspective is not that of a tourist, but of a traveler, who immerses himself in what he finds and shies away from nothing in his reporting. He is also the author and/or publisher of an extensive series of books about Peruvian culture. |
