From the very beginning, the Sacred Valley climate, altitude and land changed it into the main pantry and relaxing environment of the Inca Empire. We can observe the best of Peru’s cultivated corn in the Valley that is surrounded by the mountain range of Vilcabamba, crossed by the Vilcanota River, and is a land of fruit trees, vegetables and livestock breeding. The Urubamba Valley is one of the mayor archaeological sites in Peru including temples, platforms, canals, settlements, and burials. This region counts on a greatest biodiversity and ecological floors varying from Puna to Cloud Forest.

Recommendations: comfortable and adapted clothes for physical activity; comfortable footwear and for some aquatic activities, extra clothes, shorts or light pants, bathing suit,; long pants for cavalcades, solar block cream, moisturizing cream, sun glasses, cap, warm clothes, small backpack and towel. 1. Rafting Programs
 

Rafting tour begins down the Urubamba River with specialized guides and equipment. The trips are programmed under safety measures and allow experiences of local fauna, flora, waterfalls observation and visit isolated archaeological sites.

3. Mountain Bike Riding Programs

4. Horseback-Riding Programs
 

The horse is very important as a means of transportation and works for the inhabitants of the valley. The type of horses is ‘Peruvian Paso’ except in Yanahuara and Pumahuanca heights that they are ‘Criollo Horses’.

6. Communities and culture Programs
 

The traveler has the possibility to participate in Andean textiles and ceramics workshops carried out by members of the Valley quechua communities and to attend offerings to the Pacha Mama ritual, a way of respect and recognition from Andean communities to the land fertility.  Also, visit the Urubamba open market where inhabitants from the heights exchange their products. During workshops, the traveler will see all the steps of the products creation and production: wool preparation, clay polishing, dyeing and baking craftwork. The 78% of these activities benefits is granted to local communities.

7. Sacred Valley Sky Programs * / COD.
 

Guided by our astronomer through the planetarium-observatory, the travelers will take a look to constellations and stars most important observed in the Southern Hemisphere and the cosmology developed by Andean communities. During the first part of the visit to the planetarium, computer projections are carried out and then we go to the dome in order to use the telescope

8. Yoga Program in the Sacred Valley / COD. YYY
 

A unique experience of yoga, breathing and relaxation in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. A specialist in yoga and dance grants the classes and has an assistant for groups of more than 20 people.
